Age of Who? Apocalypse, the first mutant, has come to power in North America.
Years ago Xavier is killed by is own son Legion, now Magneto
leads the X-Men to the stormfront of Apocalypse's wrath - the world is not as we know it.

|
| Age of Apocalypse Alpha |
Apocalypse
watches as Magneto & Legion battle over Isreal, seeing this as a sign he forwards
his moves for world domination & darwinist 'survival of the fittest' ten years early.
Magneto adopts Xavier's dying dream
of peaceful coexistance - banding together his own X-men based atop Mt Wundagore.
But the early striks
of Apocalypse & the younger, in- experienced x-team saw the dawning of "The Age of Apocalypse".
After many battles & the world in utter ruin,
the X-men encounter Bishop - the only witness to the death of Xavier & only one
who knows how the world realy should be.
Magneto
believes the rantings of the cazy man & in a last deperate effort to creat the world Xavier
dreamed of, Magneto sets in motion an epic plan
to set the world 'right'.

|
| Weapon-X & Jean |
THE MASTER PLAN: To set things
in order Magneto must actually destroy the world
as it is.
Magneto knows he will become mortal enemy of his students, loose his love with Rogue &
his son Charles will never exist - Magneto
will sacrifice more than any other.
Master
theif, Gambit & his X-ternals are sent to
steal the M'Kraan Crystal, the nexus of reality, needed to mend time.
Colossus & Shadowcat lead Generation-Next to rescue Illyana,
the last timetraveling mutant, to send Bishop back to save Xavier.
Nightcrawler,
in X-Caliber, is sent to Avelon to find Destiny the precog, she must guide
Bishop through time & reality.
The
missions of the other X-men:
Astonishing X-Men try to stop the human cullings.
Amazing X-Men help evacuation of the humans to Europe. Cyclops does his best to undermine his boss & Factor-X from
the inside. Logan is Weapon-X, he
leads the nuclear armada to Apocalypse's door. Nate Gray the X-Man,
geneticaly engineered to take down Apocalypse,
is prepared to do battle along side Magneto.

|
| Magneto Vs Apocalypse |
X-Men: Omega
Magneto is taken hostage by
Apocalypse, whom also has stolen the M'Kraan
Crystal from the X-Ternals.
The X-Men
have Destiny & Illyana - But they dont bother trying to steel back the Crystal or Magneto... insted they break into Apoc's
stronghold!
Nate Grey, the X-Man
is loose and joins Mageto to face Apocalypse & his son Holocaust.
The X-Men hold back Apoc's forces & reach the Crystal where Magneto joins them. Illyana, Destiny &
Bishop enter the cyrstal. Bishop emerges
in the past to confront Legion.
Magneto Vs Apocalypse & X-Man
Vs Holocaust, an epic batttle takes place.
The past & Bishop
turns Legion's powers on himself and "fixes"
time & history.
Magneto in a final burst tears
Apocalypse apart killing the imortal! He holds
his family close as Logan's armada rains nuclear
hell down & time shifts...

After Omega:
Bishop fixes time and the AoA never
happens... or that was the plan.
*In
their massive bout X-Man impales Holocaust with a shard of the M'Kraan Crystal
- both are shunted to the fixed reality; X-Man crashes to Earth while Holocaust is frozen
in orbit and comes to clash with a most powerful Exodus.
*SugarMan
stowed away in Colossus' boot and excapes into the M'Kraan Crystal. He emerges 20 years in the past
in Genosha and is the key genetisist to the mutate slave population.
*DarkBeast is beaten by Quicksilver who teleports him into the heart
of the Crystal. DarkBeast also arives 20 years in the past and is the 'father' of the Morlocks.
Sinister sees his work/methods in the Morlocks and massicars them in responce.
*Sabertooth
and Blink are transported to a different place and end up leading the reality jumping teams WeaponX
and Exiles as seen in the Exilse title.

| What If? AoA |
WHAT IF?
Currently there are three What If? stories that attach to the AoA.
1.
What if Legion had killed Magneto? Xavier still
forms his X-Men but without Magneto and the Brotherhood to oppose them the X-Men are underprepared to
battle Apocalypse when he reviels himself. In the end Xavier deals the kill blow to Apocalypse but it also
take his own life.
2. What if the AoA did not end? Two years latter the surviving population
of AoA Earth is on the Moon as the Earth is too radio-active to support life. The crystalising of the univers had held Galactus
from Earth but now he is heading for them. Humans and Mutants must put everything aside and unite against the coming threat.
With a united force and some ancient alien weapons Earth fells Galactus!
3. What if Legion had killed both Xavier and Magneto? Very
similar to the AoA - Cpt America with Thor power leads his hero team to one final battle to stop the overlord
Apocalypse. With Nate Grey and MoloculeMan they kill Apoc but Nate takes
his place and Cpt must kill him but his power bolt goes through an open portal killing Xavier and Magneto
in the past creating the reality.

| OMW "AoA" Avengers |
"One Man's Worth" Animated Series
One Man's Worth
was a double episode of the original 90's cartoon X-men series. It was something of a homage to the AoA and other
alternate realities/futures.
Instead of David it was Fitzroy
that went back in time by Mastermold to kill Charles.
This altered time and saw an apocalyptic future with visious battle between mutants, lead by the 'Leader'
Magneto, against base line humans.
Bishop & Shard travel through
time to save Xavior. When they appear in the altered present they decide to take the married couple and would-be
x-men Storm & Wolverine, with them to the past to fix reality and save this one
man that would change history.
Other cameo apperances include: AoAers Holocaust, Sunfire, Morph, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Sabertooth
and Wildchild. Avengers Goliath, Cpt America, Wasp, Ironman, Scarlet Spider, Hurculies & BlackWiddow.

ToyBiz
Vs CAENMAN SPOTLIGHT
|
Caenman was facinated with AoA and ToyBiz did make a handfull
of AoA figures, in cluding Apocalypse (on left) ruler of the hellish North America.
The TB Apocalypse is a fine figure with metalic paint and removable cape, armor and interchangable
morphing hands. He even came with a ShadowKing accesory. However, ToyBiz Apocalypse was not quite big enough, had skin tone
face and the arms/hands were rather disproportionate.
Caenman
was content with the TB figure but as time went on Caenman felt the need to build his own Apocalyplse - after all it is his saga.Other customizers have used figures like Lucifer, Drax the Destroyer and ML Apocalypse
but Caenman went with an original design: Spiderman3 movie Rhino (though he wasnt in the movie),
take horns off head and shoulders, resculpt the head to an appropriet shape, add gauntlets & boot cuffs with sculpty.
The paint was three toned; base light blue with navey & grayblue bled into the creases.
Possible
Improvements: Apocalypse still needs a cape & to stand up straight (head ramming action of Rhino is
anoying).
Overall
i'm pleased with my Apocalypse and he now looks more threatening with the other figures.
Actually ToyBiz did have a
second Apocalypse from the 'secret weapons' line that did resemble the
AoA version more than regular continuity's, and i did use this figure origionaly with my AoA display.

////10th Anaversery Age Of Apocalypse\\\\
To celebrate the AoA classic Marvel published
some 10th anaversery issues.
There were some back stories filling in some of the
AoA history and a 6 issue series that was post Omega.
*The
prequal One Shots were ok, similar to the 'Tales from the AoA', but the Logan/SilverSamuri
tale didnt make much sense in AoA context.
*The
6 part sequal was an abomination and i would urge you to avoid it at all cost. Frankly, the writers and artist made it obvious
they had no idea about the original AoA. The AoA was Earth 616 - Legion's powers were such he could
time travel without causing a new reality offshoot. So when Bishop fixed reality the AoA ended. Well they ignored this fact.
The charactorisation was awefull both in writing and artwork.
Marvel should issue an appology to fans
for this series!
